It seems that the success of TikTok is envious on the side of YouTube. Indeed, Google’s online video service is currently developing a short content platform called Shorts.
YouTube is currently developing a new platform called Shorts, which is directly integrated into the app. The objective? Create short videos (maximum 15 seconds) recorded with licensed music on YouTube Music.
YouTube: a desire to compete with TikTok?
YouTube Shorts is a funny reminder of how the successful TikTok platform works. Indeed, short videos, licensed music … Everything is there! If YouTube has not yet communicated on the subject, there is a desire for the platform to (re) seduce a young audience.
By integrating Shorts directly into the YouTube application, the platform guarantees itself an audience base that it also wishes to develop. This will also allow YouTubers, also present on TikTok, to perhaps focus on their favorite application.
While many social networks have tried to compete with TikTok (Vine with Byte, for example), none have managed to beat the application of the Chinese giant ByteDance. Will YouTube Shorts be the first? We will know at the end of 2020 when it is officially released.
