The Spanish police intervened to help a Belgian minor, residing in Benidorm, who had announced her suicidal intentions on the TikTok social network, several local newspapers and the Spanish news agency Efe said on Wednesday.
According to La Razón newspaper, the investigation began when the Greek Cybercrime Division detected a TikTok user who expressed his intention to kill himself.
After several checks, Greek police located a minor in Spain and reported the facts via Interpol. The young girl, of Belgian nationality, was located in Benidorm, in the province of Alicante (south-east).
Once the information was analyzed, urgent measures were taken by the Spanish police. Police attended the girl’s address. After questioning the parents, the police found the suicidal facts to be true because the girl had marks on her wrist. With the consent of her parents, the girl was hospitalized.
