Will TikTok really be banned from app stores in the US from this Sunday? Even if the proposed deal between ByteDance, Oracle and Walmart is not approved in the US and/or China, the ban is looking wobbly.
Yesterday, a US District Judge made an initial ruling in response to TikTok’s filing for a preliminary injunction against the ban, telling the Trump administration that it must file its defence by Friday, or delay the ban.
WeChat has already successfully challenged the executive order banning it from the app stores, although Reuters reported that the US Commerce Department plans to appeal in that case.
