The Chinese platform attaches particular importance to the security of its users. TikTok teams therefore focused on building innovative security infrastructures, putting in place relevant programs and working with industry experts to further develop their capabilities.
TikTok committed to the safety of its users
Providing a safe and secure experience for all its users: this is what the Chinese juggernaut is working hard on. Last April, TikTok had already presented its approach to security. With the opening of a EMEA Data Protection and Security Center in Dublin at the start of the year, the social network protects the data and privacy of its users.
A new data center in Ireland
TikTok is setting up its very first data center on the European continent, in Ireland. This represents an investment of around 420 million euros and will create hundreds of jobs. This data center will play a key role in strengthening, safeguarding and protecting network user data with state-of-the-art security and defense systems, both at the physical and network levels.
In view of the scale of operations in Ireland, TikTok Ireland has recently become the co-data controller alongside TikTok UK and is now the service provider for users in the European Economic Area and Switzerland.
